"WELCOME" to my BLOG!!!
This blog is part of the requirements for completing the Using Accounting For Decision Making subject for my Accounting Degree..... Accounting can seem quite boring and dull to some people so I'm going to try to insert my sense of humour into this to make it a little more interesting!WHO AM I??
I'm Renae! I now live in Mackay, Qld... I'm 40 years old (OMG that sounds so old - I'm not that old really?? am i??) Anyway - I've had to have a change of career due to Government redundancies so have come across from Public Health after completing 1 undergraduate degree (Science: Maj Physiology) and 2 post graduate degrees (Dip Health Promotion & Masters Public Health) plus other numerous Dips and Associate Dips that seem really ridiculous now and make me sound like SuperNerd.. - so back to undergraduate again to do Accounting. Bit of an eye opener this time! Why accounting? Well my Dad is an accountant of over 40 years and I am also born on July 1st - so I guess the Gods must be crazy!... it was inevitable! Actually, it was a decision due to circumstances - I was out of work, had major health issues and the option was there for me to go back home to work in the family business (Taxation Accounting) so I also decided to do Accounting as it was always on the 'to do list'. I'm actually really enjoying it.
Besides that - I've got 2 border collies, 2 big lazy cats (one with half a tail and 1 with 3 legs), and chooks with baby chickens. I'm athletic and train every day at the gym and run, am a photographer, and Wonder Woman and Star Wars addict.
So...... I will try to make light of accounting and share my learning along the way with you. Lots of feedback will be great
ENJOY!!

ReplyDeleteWell done on taking the time and putting in the effort to comment on so many other blogs! I see we finished school around the same time. I have done another undergraduate degree part time just after finishing school and am hoping that I will quickly get into the rhytm of studying again with this one.
Good luck with your journey
Thanks Johan... yes I'm back doing another Undergraduate degree! Seems like I have been studying since I completed my first one - that's what happens when you continue to work and do post graduate study!!! I thought I was finished.... obviously not LOL
DeleteGood Luck this year :-)
Great start to the blogging Renae! It's so refreshing to see the way you've approached this, it's so approachable, entertaining and easy to read (that's coming from someone who isn't a fan of reading, and is somehow attempting uni)! Hope this term is plenty of fun for you, it seems you're staying on top of it all! You've been excellent motivation for me to get on with it and actually start my term well! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to read more!
Thank you so much Mia!! I've blogged before and I've read LOTS of blogs... so I try to write it from a perspective that I am reading it - so for me it MUST be engaging. Hopefully with the content I can continue. Good Luck this term!!
